If you’re just starting your emergency food storage and you’re stumped or overwhelmed with what to stock- here is a list of basics to get you started! Even if you’ve been storing food for a while, it never hurts to give your storage plan a checkup.
With the steeply rising foods prices and continuing food shortages we’re seeing, having emergency food storage is more important than ever! Every bit of food you buy is an appreciating asset- it will only continue to go up in value. So stock as much as you can today!
Here is a link to a food storage calculator that I find useful. You input the number of people in your family, and the amount of time you want to store food for (i.e. a 2 month supply, 1 year supply, etc.) and it will calculate how much of each item you should store. It can be eye opening to see how much food you really need to store to sustain your family!
